Travel Basketball
2024/25 Season
The OYAA Travel basketball program is for boys and girls in grades 3 - 6 who attend Olentangy schools or live within the Olentangy School District boundaries. Teams play in the Central Ohio Basketball Association (COBA), a central Ohio-based league with teams in and around I-270. Teams play in one independent, local tournament and the end-of-season COBA league tournament. Home games are played at Olentangy middle schools. Tryouts are held in mid to late September. Each high school program and/or approved evaluator runs the tryout, evaluates players and assigns teams. Parents interested in coaching must complete a volunteer registration to be considered.
Registration opens September 1 and closes 30 mins after start on night 2.
NO ADMITTANCE WITHOUT REGISTRATION! Be prepared to show your registration confirmation at check-in. Read guidelines that follow to ensure you register for the correct division:
- Students must try out for the school team in their current attendance area. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are unsure which high school your address is assigned, you can find your attendance area on the Olentangy School District website.
- Students must try out at their correct grade level (no playing up unless determined by HS coaches). 2nd graders are not eligible to participate. Any player found to be registered outside their true grade will be canceled with no refund.
- Please note there are separate 3rd and 4th grade boys divisions; however, 3rd and 4th grade girls are combined.
- Tryout dates and times are determined by the evaluators. Sessions will begin promptly at the indicated time. It is strongly recommended players attend both sessions if possible. Arrive 30 minutes early the first night to check in.
- All tryouts are closed. Only coaches/evaluators and participants permitted in the gyms during tryout times.
Select the division based on actual grade level, gender, and current high school attendance area.
